Our Story
YOUR HEALTH, OUR RESPONSIBILITY
For 26 years the Barry family lived in the house on 77/K. For those two and a half decades they filled it with love and joy and the house carries great importance for them. The late Hafiz Ateeq-ur-Rahman Barry was the president of the nearby Mosque and was considered the elder of the whole neighborhood. People often consulted him for advice regarding marital and inheritance-based issues and what course to take according to Islamic laws and teachings. He was considered wise, and always willing to assist those in need.
During that same period, his son, Fawad Barry decided to focus on making the area safer and clean. With that goal in mind, he created a Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) in the neighborhood. The mission was to bring the neighborhood crime rate to zero and make the area clean and refined.
Our country has been experiencing serious financial issues for nearly three years now and 40% of the population is living below the poverty line. Parents can’t get their children treated and vice versa all due to an insufficiency of funds.
So in 2013 when the family moved to the Defence Housing Authority they decided not to sell the house. Hafiz Ateeq ur Rahman Barry passed away peacefully on March 22, 2019 and had left the legacy of spirit of generosity and kindness among the family. The family instead wanted to do something with this house that would benefit the residents of the area, especially the people residing in poor localities like Omar colony, Mehmoodabad, Baloch colony, and other areas.
The goal was to make basic medical treatments and tests accessible for them and their families as well as qualified specialists of major clinical specialties. They also made a complete specialized eye clinic that starts from minor treatments till the cataract surgeries.
Within two years their old home was transformed into the Ateeq-ur-Rahman Barry (ARB) Medical Centre. It was inaugurated on the 1st of December, 2024. It began operating full-time the very next day on December 2nd, 2024
